It is so yummy the Macaroni and cheese is awesome and the pork ribs fall off the bone. I have gone twice now and I love it so much. The turkey dinner is also very tasty.

Our hotel was 1 block away and as a result we closed this place down 3 nights in a row. I have no issues with giving this place 5 stars. It is a mix of young, old, locals and tourists. Pours were heavy and the piano-man made things fun. I will be back to this place every time I travel to SF.

Come here for breakfast if you are near Union Square. You will love it. We had breakfast here everyday when we spent a weekend in the city that's how good it was. Large size platters with plenty to eat. It gets crowded too. But for under $8 you can enjoy a variety of omelettes with homestyle fries and toast, good coffee too. I had the Denver omelette my favorite and I loved it. Menu offers some speciality items like Apple pancakes and Belgian waffles, Biscuits and Gravy, French toast, other items include cold cereal, oatmeal, granola, etc. Not an elaborate menu, so don't look for Eggs Benedict, just a pub style restaurant with good food for breakfast. Don't miss it!

Strong drinks, lively crowd, great smelling food.
Like any Irish Pub, you expect a good crowd of thirsty people and if you are going to eat, you expect some excellent corned beef and cabbage (and maybe some fish and chips).
Lefty O'Doul's was unique when it comes to Irish Pubs, they actually have an amazing looking buffet and carving stations. I sat in the bar and ordered a round of drinks, while watching a line of people step up to the buffet for their corned beef, fish and chips, and about 20 other items. I must say, it smelled delicious! I almost sampled the corned beef, but I was supposed to be at dinner in 30 minutes...maybe next time.
This is a great place to have drink before you head out for a night on the town, and next time, it may even be the place that I end up at for dinner.

Hefty portions of good home cooked food. We ate the corned beef cabbage and a plate of pastrami with baked beans, cole slaw and pea salad. Everything was delicious! And to top it off, we shared a bowl of custard.

OK, we needed a place for breakfast and we passed this place every day on our week long vacation. We figured, why not try it?
Since it was a weekday, it was pretty light on the crowds inside. For something like $10, we got a whole plate of food served cafeteria-style There was corned beef, meatloaf, sandwiches, pastas, tons of sides...
This is also the mecca of San Francisco local history. Ask any of the waiters or check our their several displays of local memorabilia.
This place was definitely worth the stop, especially if you're looking for an inexpensive breakfast. I'm pretty sure this place is open all night, which is out of the ordinary here in Chicago. They serve breakfast early and hot food all day and obviously stop at the bar for some drinks later in the evening.

Why 4 stars? Because they had a decent beer selection, a cool piano player and an awesome crowd...

I love me some Lefty O'Doul's. They pour heavy, the place always has a good crowd, and it's just a lot of fun. The place was PACKED on St. Patty's Day, of course, so we waited until the end of the night to come in for my stepsister's 21st. It was our last stop of the night so they were only pouring shots and taking cash (we walked in about 30 minutes before closing). The bouncer hit on my stepsister, the bartenders gave her booze, and we met some good folks inside. All in all, it was a good end to the night.
